Thazhathangady Mar Baselios Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church also known as Thazhathangady Pally is a Parish attached to the Kottayam Central Diocese of Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Church. This Parish is situated in the banks of Meenachil river (Meenachilaar), 3 Kilometers from Kottayam town in Kottayam - Kumarakom road.

Sree Venkatachalapathy Tirumala Temple, Thazhathangady, Kottayam
This temple is located at Thazhathangady in the suburbs of Kottayam town, about 3 km from the town towards the famous tourist resort Kumarakom. The temple was established in 1841 AD. The location is near the Taliyil kotta Siva temple.
Kottayam is one of the Ashta gramas and the temple is managed by the Alleppey Anathanarayanapuram Thuravoor Tirumala Devaswom (AATTD).

The Thazhathangady mosque(Juma-Masjid) is one of the oldest mosque in India and is 1000 years old. It is also famous for its architectural design and beauty.This mosque is situated on the banks of the Meenachil river.

to the historical charm of the place.Thazhathangady Mosque, one of the
ancient mosques in India, is an important pilgrim center of the Muslims.
The 8th century Persian cross in the Valiyapally with ancient script
inscribed on it is a major attraction. The churches known as Valiyapally
and Cheriya Pally, built in the 16th century, enhances the worth of the
place. Thazhathangady Boat Race is held during Onam, the harvest
festival of Kerala, which falls either in August or September.
